How old is Greg Rutherford and what's his net worth?

Born November 17, 1986, Gregory James Rutherford is a British track and field athlete who specialises in long jump.

Raised in Milton Keynes, 31-year-old Greg was one of three children and was destined to be a sportsman.

His grandfather and great-grandfather both played football for Arsenal, and even Greg himself had trials for Aston Villa.

His sporting heroics led him to take part in Strictly 2016 which helped the icon earn an estimated £3.7million net worth.

In March 2017, Greg revealed how he was left "feeling sick" after finding out his former manager cheated him out of £48,000 to fuel a gambling addiction.

Greg was awarded an MBE in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to athletics.

Who is Greg's partner and how many children do they have?

Greg's partner Susie Verrill revealed their second baby Rex was conceived during Greg's stint on Strictly in 2016.

In a message shared on Instagram, she wrote: "When we worked out dates, it appeared I fell for Greg's charms around the time he was Paso-ing like a masculine bullfighter.

"Then we found out we were wrong and it turns out I like my other half best when he's clad in a floral Salsa shirt, looking like a camp, ginger hairdresser named Tristan.

"We don't need to talk about it further, I've made my peace with it."

The couple also have a son called Milo, born in 2014.

How did he get on during Strictly, and what other TV shows has he done?

For Strictly, Greg was partnered with professional Natalie Lowe.

Speaking of his exit from the show, Rutherford described it as "horrible".

He said: "It’s horrible, it’s something that completely engulfs your life and every aspect, I mean I am training 10 to 12 hours a day, I have been putting all my heart and soul into it.

“I would like to think I was getting better and improving, but obviously not.

"It’s a very, very tough year this year, there are some exceptional dancers and I knew I was never as good as those guys, but I was going to try as hard as I possibly could to get as close as I could.

“Sadly for me it’s finished now. I’m gutted.

"I spend all my time with Natalie at the moment, we have such a great partnership and such a great friendship that now I know on Monday morning I won’t be doing that, and that’s difficult.”

Why is he retiring and what's his long-jump record?

Greg was thrust into the sporting spotlight in London 2012, where his gold medal long jump win formed part of Team GB's famous Super Saturday.

He is the current British record holder for the long jump, both outdoors and indoors, with his personal bests of 8.51 m (outdoors) and 8.26 m (indoors).

In June 2018 Greg announced he would retire from professional athletics at the end of the season.

Speaking to the Guardian, Rutherford said: “At times I am in so much pain I can’t even sit on the floor and play with my two kids.

“I still feel I am fast. I still feel as if I am super strong. But whenever I try to sprint or jump I have to take three days off because I am limping so much. In the end, it wears you down.
