NORWICH players had their hotel rooms robbed while they played a pre-season match, according to defender Timm Klose.

The Canaries flew to Germany and took on SC Paderborn on Sunday and while they were on the team bus back to their base they got the terrible news.

Klose captioned a photo of himself and team-mate Marco Stiepermann looking glum on the coach with: “The moment they’ve told you that whilst we were playing they robbed our hotel”.

According to reports, the hotel is carrying out an internal investigation into the theft and the police will be involved.

On the positive, Norwich did win the friendly 3-2 with an opener from Dennis Srbeny and a brace from Teemu Pukki.

But they might need a whip-round to get to their next fixture against  Union Berlin on Tuesday at Stadium Laumeskamp Delbruck.

Footballers in England are used to losing their money on the team bus in back-seat card games but not through burglaries.

Manager Daniel Farke thought the trip away and living in each other’s’ pockets would be a boost for team spirit.

But now they’re all empty, the honeymoon period is probably over.

He said: “To be together 24 hours a day is important, from the point of getting the squad to gel.

“They need to create relationships and that togetherness.

"We have brilliant conditions at our base and some good games.”
