West Brom complete £6m deal for Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley

WEST BROM have signed defender Kyle Bartley from Swansea City on a three-year deal.


The Baggies announced the arrival of the 27-year-old centre-back on Monday morning, with the deal rumoured to be worth around £6million.

He will join up with Darren Moore's squad today ahead of West Brom's pre-season friendly against Aberdeen on Friday.


Moore told the club website: "I’m absolutely delighted Kyle has joined us.



"He’s got great presence about him and I am looking forward to working with him."


Bartley credited manager Moore with being behind his decision to move to the Midlands.

The former Birmingham and Leeds defender said: "After speaking with Darren I knew this was the place I wanted to be.


"He let me know his ideas for the season and the next few years, his ambitions for the club and he told me about the fan base and the facilities. I’m hoping to be involved quickly."



Bartley becomes the second signing of the summer for the team that was relegated from the Premier League last season.

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone joined from Manchester United earlier this month.


West Brom begin their Championship campaign at home on August 4.


Bolton Wanderers are the visitors to The Hawthorns as both teams look to make their return to the Premier League.
