Celebrating Inclusive Education at NOVA's Open House
Video Channel: Heartsof Gold
We headed to NOVA Education Center's Open House to celebrate the end of the school year and get to know their students and education methodology. We would like to share with you the words of Hearts of Gold supporter, Lynne Juanes...
"We don’t always get a first-hand look at the work being done as a result of our contributions. Last Friday, I had just that chance.
With over 20 years’ experience, Nova is an inclusion school where special needs children and normal children are educated together, fostering acceptance and compassion between children. They believe that all children have the right to an education; no exceptions to that rule.
Needless to say, my face was sore from smiling so much. The discomfort was well worth it, though. I’ll continue to contribute to H of G to ensure this school keeps its doors open, so that all this good work can continue. I was and continue to be impressed by what I saw first-hand last Friday. Giving a child the chance to blossom and grow into a person who can integrate into the community at large and become a productive citizen regardless of whether they have special needs or not, and where all of these differences are embraced, is a school I can certainly stand behind."
