Immediately afterwards, stewards found the Italian guilty of careless riding, judging him to have allowed his mount to shift right without sufficient correction. The ban couldn't have come at a worse time for the forty-seven-year-old, who was set to have an enviable book of rides at Goodwood for his patron, John Gosden.
