Background For Navigation Element Not Filling Entire Space

Image
Background For Navigation Element Not Filling Entire Space StackOverflow Community! I have a problem with my Website where I am hovering over an item on my navigation bar, and it doesn't cover the full spot I intend for it to cover. For those moderators who keenly notice that this question is answered Here and Here as well, it isn't applicable in my situation since one is a span tag, and the other is a vertical dropdown, not a horizontal navigation bar. Attached below is a screenshot of the problem. The effect I intend is to get the background right to the edge of the top and bottom, and pushing the background to the edge of the right and left I've tried playing around and looking online, but the answer that is most consistent is: display: block Which would mess up the flow of the navigation bar if I were to implement it. Can someone point me in the right direction? CSS used to style the nav bar and it's elements: nav { text-align: center; background-color: blac...

CSS to keep content in portrait or square mode

CSS to keep content in portrait or square mode What would be the proper way to ensure that a webpage's square content is displayed "tall"? For example, if your phone or monitor is in portrait mode, then the content would take the full width, but if it's in landscape mode, then you'd get sidebars on the side of the content, so that the main body is a square, filling up the full height. I've done this with JavaScript, by handling the resize event and checking the container's height and width, and manually calculating widths and margins. But I'm sure there's a better way, maybe even a pure CSS3 solution. Looking at Google's responsive guide, I'm guessing maybe a custom stylesheet would do it, but I can't figure out how to always make the content always fill up either the height or width. So here's what it would look like in portrait and landscape modes, where the red section is the main body, and the blue is extra filler space: I'm...

Link hover animation issue(knight rider animation)

Link hover animation issue(knight rider animation) I have created animation that runs hover the link. I have created animation using in and out key frames. But I got issue. I think this happens because of knight-rider-out animation. But I need that for mouse leave. The issue is when the page load it is running automatically. Code pen link .container { padding: 50px; max-width: 500px; } .dashBottom { padding-left: 0px; position: relative; padding-bottom: 15px; -webkit-transition: all 0.3s; -moz-transition: all 0.3s; -ms-transition: all 0.3s; -o-transition: all 0.3s; transition: all 0.3s; color: black; text-decoration: none; } .dashBottom:after { position: absolute; content: ""; bottom: 0px; width: 30px; background-color: black; height: 4px; left: 0; right: auto; -webkit-animation: knight-rider-out 0.5s; animation: knight-rider-out 0.5s; animation-fill-mode: forwards; } .dashBottom:hover:after { -webkit-animation: knight-rider-in ...

How do I keep two side-by-side divs the same height?

Image
How do I keep two side-by-side divs the same height? I have two divs side by side. I'd like the height of them to be the same, and stay the same if one of them resizes. I can't figure this one out though. Ideas? To clarify my confusing question, I'd like both boxes to always be the same size, so if one grows because text is placed into it, the other one should grow to match the height. Some content! Some content! Some content! Some content! Some content! Some content! </div> How did you put them "side by side"? Using float ? – MvanGeest Jun 8 '10 at 13:41 float Do you want that if one of them is getting bigger, than the other one will stay the same height size? – Wai Wong Jun 8 '...

Vue JS Chat App UI

Vue JS Chat App UI Good day everyone! I am developing a Chat App using Laravel + Laravel Echo + Pusher and Vue JS all the functionality are fine but I have a problem with the UI. If you have a new chat, your message will display on the right side and if someone sends a chat on the chatbox, his/her message will display to the left. I already made the UI {{message.user.firstname}} {{message.user.lastname}} 10:12 AM, Today {{message.chat}} </li> </ul> </div> {{message.user.firstname}} {{message.user.lastname}} 10:12 AM, Today {{message.chat}} </li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> whenever I make a message, all messages will display on the right, if someone sends a chat, all messages will display on the left. Does anyon...
