Weird Vim configuration on Ubuntu Bash for Windows

Weird Vim configuration on Ubuntu Bash for Windows First screenshot Second Screnshot I am using Ubuntu Bash for Windows and installed the ultimate vimrc from https://github.com/amix/vimrc However, now I get this weird highlighting over my code in vim. Compile code ported from Linux to windows and MingW-w64

Compile code ported from Linux to windows and MingW-w64 Can anyone tell me how can I compile code using POSIX headers in windows system? OS: Windows 10 installed: MingW-w64 MingW Code:Blocks Version 17.12 MSVS 2017 free version No Cgywin The code was developed in Linux system and uses a lot of POSIX stuff. such as #include <sys/types.h> #include <sys/fcntl.h> #include <sys/mman.h> #include <sys/time.h> #include <sys/ipc.h> #include <sys/shm.h> I want to compile it under windows system. Is there any win32 version of those POSIX lib/header that ported to windows? Someone told me MinGW-w64 could but I cannot find any of those headers. If you can't use Cygwin, or any other POSIX emulating environment you might want to consider doing a proper port, using the Windows API. Note that MinGW is just a port of the GCC compilers , not of the POSIX environment. You could maybe use MSYS for some parts, but considering the headers ...

Can I append tab characters to a text file using the Windows command line?

Can I append tab characters to a text file using the Windows command line? What I'm trying to do is take a string, such as: One[TAB]Two[TAB]Three[TAB]Four And append it to the end of a pre-existing text file. I'm on a Windows 10 machine using the command line. I've found a solution for power shell (`T), but I can't find anything that will work for the command line. I've tried /t, I've tried setting variables, I've tried a variety of single or double quotes. The base command I've been using is: echo [MAGIC] >> diff.txt Any help or ideas are appreciated. Object file is 2.5x larger on linux than on macOS or Windows

Object file is 2.5x larger on linux than on macOS or Windows I have a file which, when compiled to object file, has the following size: The file (detailed below) is a representation of (a part of) a unicode table along with character properties. The encoding is utf8. It occured to me that the problem might be that libstdc++ can't handle the file well, so I tried libc++ with clang on Gentoo, but it didn't do anything (the object file size remained the same). Then I thought that it might be some optimization doing something odd, but once again I had no size improvements when I went from -O3 to -O0 . -O3 -O0 The file, on line 50 includes UnicodeTable.inc . The UnicodeTable.inc contains a std::array of the unicode codepoints. UnicodeTable.inc UnicodeTable.inc std::array I tried changing std::array to C style array, but again, the object file size did not change. std::array I have the preprocessed version of the CodePoint.cpp which can be compiled with $CC -xc++ CodePoint.i -c ...

Windows 7 PCs will not upgrade to Windows 10

Windows 7 PCs will not upgrade to Windows 10 I am having some serious issues with Windows 7 upgrading to Windows 10. I have tried using both the "Update" and ISO facility of the download options from the Windows 10 website but neither work. I have tried it on at east three different PCs and every time I am thrown the same issue "Setup has failed to validate the product key" I have tried the following: Yet still I get the same error. This is all within the last week. Can anyone give me some advice as to what is going on? Contiune keyboard working while hooking

Contiune keyboard working while hooking I'm learning recently how to hook APIs and I started with keyboard calls. I set the hook with "SetWindowsHookEx(WH_KEYBOARD_LL, LowLevelKeyboardProc, 0, 0);" and everything is working as i want but... Hooking is capturing keyboard and kinda blocking it - so as i want only to get informations that keys are used but dont wanna change the way they'r working i used "keybd_event(p->vkCode, 0, 0, 0);" and here appears another "but"... This function as it's simulation of key press it going to be hooked again what i do NOT want. Is there any solution to get information about keyboard using without blocking the work of it? WH_KEYBOARD_LL not blocking keyboard – RbMm Jun 29 at 9:06 WH_KEYBOARD_LL DO NOT call keybd_event() from inside th...

Java reports that the Java version is deprecated even though the latest version is installed

Java reports that the Java version is deprecated even though the latest version is installed Since I updated my Window version to Windows 10 an old Java programm doesn't start, instead I got a Java report that the Java version is deprecated. Now I updated Java to the latest version but the error still occurs. The Java programm was written with Java 4 and I'm using the latest Windows and Java version. Does anyone know a solution? Any concrete error message? Maybe old Java API is either deprecated or removed that you used in your program. – Glains Jun 29 at 8:18 Maybe the JavaSE wasn't installed or no environment variable? But without error, it's hard to help. – KeyMaker00 Jun 29 at 8:42 ...

Why may C# console applications call `Application.Run()`?

Why may C# console applications call `Application.Run()`? I have seen several examples of console applications calling Application.Run() , which starts a message loop on the current thread without a form. Application.Run() https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157900(v=vs.110).aspx However, as the documentation states: In a Win32-based or Windows Forms application, a message loop is a routine in code that processes user events, such as mouse clicks and keyboard strokes. So, it seems that Application.Run() only applies to GUI applications. Application.Run() Then what is the purpose of calling Application.Run() from console applications, and is there a smarter way of achieving the same functionality in console applications? Application.Run() why would you say that this only applies to GUI applications? it may very well be a console application because those can implement message loops just as well. – Timothy Groote ...

mongodb : listen() attempts to access socket in a forbidden way

mongodb : listen() attempts to access socket in a forbidden way I downloaded 64-bit zipped version of mongodb for windows, created '/data/db' as instructed. Now, when I run "mongod" command, I am getting the following error & the mongodb server shuts down automatically. "ERROR : listen() failed error-10013. An attempt was made to access socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions. " Please help me to clear the firewall settings in windows to prevent this error & run mongodb. I was able to fix the error by using the following command : "mongod --bind_ip="127.0.0.1". :) – Dharshni May 18 '14 at 10:14 Perhaps better to put your comment in an answer and accept it. Determine in Windows if the application is running with elevated privileges [duplicate]

Determine in Windows if the application is running with elevated privileges [duplicate] This question already has an answer here: This has been solved! This was accomplished with the following code: #include <iostream> #include <Shlobj.h> int main() { if (!IsUserAnAdmin) { // Do stuff } if (IsUserAnAdmin) { // Do stuff } Thank you to everyone who commented on the post. I'm in a bit of a rut with the C++ application I'm developing. My application requires elevated privileges to function properly, and I'd like to be able to determine if such privileges are present upon runtime. How would I go about doing this? I would like to check immediately after the program is run, and throw an error or proceed with execution (of course) Thank you for taking the time to respond. This question has been asked before and already has an answer. If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question....
