Ferrari driver Raikkonen was slapped with a 10-second time penalty for causing the crash, but unhappy Hamilton could not hide his frustration and swerved post-race interviews.

Emotional Hamilton lashed out and pointed an accusing finger at Ferrari’s “interesting tactics” after feeling Raikkonen hit him on purpose.

But Minttu Raikkonen appeared to hit back at Hamilton on Instagram by suggesting people who don’t like losing should “do ballet” instead.

She wrote: “If you cry like a girl when you lose, do ballet. #Justsaying”

Her cryptic comments are bound to anger Mercedes and Hamilton even though the Brit said he had accepted Raikkonen’s full apology for wrecking his race.

He also appeared to back-track on the comments he made on the podium by implying there was foul play from the Italian team.

Hamilton wrote on Instagram: “Kimi said sorry and I accept it and we move on. It was a racing incident and nothing more. Sometimes we say dumb s*** and we learn from it.”

Meanwhile, Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene has taken a pop at Mercedes’s Technical Director, James Allison, as tempers boiled over following a brilliant race at Silverstone, which was won by Sebastian Vettel.

Allison, who quit Ferrari to join Mercedes, was brought into the post-race row by Merc chief Toto Wolff.

Wolff said Allison had privately questioned whether Raikkonen’s mistake was “either deliberate or incompetent”.

And that angered Arrivabene, who sought out Italian TV to blast the Brit, saying he should be “ashamed” and that Mercedes should “stay classy”.

He said: “If he [Allison] actually said something like that, he should be ashamed of himself because he worked many years in Maranello.

“He took quite a bit of money from Maranello as well, today he’s doing his job, you have to be elegant and know how to lose.

“We’re here in England sometimes they want to teach us how to be gentlemen, he should start first. Really, this annoyed me so much.

“Incompetent, who Kimi? Who is he to judge what a driver is doing in the car, I can accept it from Jacques (Villeneuve) because he’s been a driver, but that person? No.

“First of all, he should look at the telemetry and understand that his driver, unfortunately for himself, had a bad start, so having a bad start he immediately lost two positions.

“Kimi had a good start, we have the telemetry data, so he found himself immediately on top of Hamilton.

“I want to remind everyone that in China we had a situation between Vettel and Verstappen and nobody said anything, all fine.

“But I mean, I want to give them a message: it’s been a beautiful battle, a battle that I think the audience appreciated, there will be other battles where most likely Mercedes will win, this is a lesson for us to stay classy, a thing that they haven’t done.”
