AUSSIE skipper Tim Paine was a bloody star for his team after being struck in the face.
Paine sustained a cut near the left side of his mouth and some dental damage after a slower ball from Andrew Tye bounced up in front of him.

Just three balls later, he held a brilliant let-handed diving catch from an inside edge by England centurion Jason Roy.
Paine carried on keeping wicket for the rest of the innings despite feeling groggy.
He came in one place lower than scheduled at No.8 and scored 15 before being caught at fine leg off Liam Plunkett.
Incredibly, wicketkeeper Paine battled on and immediately took his place behind the stumps to carry on with England racking up a massive score.

In the same over as the gory incident, Paine then took a screamer of a catch to dismiss Jason Roy - who had already thumped 120 from just 108 balls.
Amongst all the chaos, England loudly went about their business, with Jos Buttler continuing his superb form.

The Somerset slugger pulverised 91 not out from just 70 deliveries - including two sixes - with wickets falling all around him.
Jonny Bairstow had early bludgeoned 42 from just 24 balls, with Alex Hales and Joe Root getting starts before falling in the 20s.
Sam Billings - drafted into the team to replace injured skipper Eoin Morgan - and Moeen Ali both fell cheaply late in the innings, along with David Willey and Liam Plunkett.
England finished their innings on a massive 342-8 having comfortably won the first ODI at The Oval.
