And weighing almost 16st, that's around 5st heavier than the man himself hits the scales at for his octagon battles.

It will be on show at the JD Malat Gallery in Mayfair, London, on his birthday, and will take pride of place there until September 30.

Birmingham-based Lithuanian artist Edgar Askelovic, who designs under the name "Aspencrow", will then gift the stunning piece, titled ATLAS, to the man himself.

Speaking about the theory behind the sculpture, Askelovic said: “It is an honour that Conor has accepted this as a gift from me.

"He is a phenomenon of our time - not just a smart athlete, but also a visionary.

“To create the piece, I looked back to antiquity, when athletes were immortalised in sculptures as gods.

"And I combined some details from a Michelangelo statue with modern day graffiti to capture the present day's warrior sensibilities.

“People of our generation grew up on graffiti and hooliganism, so I’ve displayed part of his tattoos on his back in graffiti.

"I share his belief: 'Talent does not exist. This is hard work and obsession.'"

He spent five months meticulously handcrafting the near-16st sculpture from photographs alone, using top quality platinum silicone and marble powder.

The eyes are made from eerily realistic, UV-resistant polyurethane resin and McGregor's trademark crop cut and beard was crafted from real hair.

On the side of the rock that the MMA star bursts out of is the gorilla that the Dubliner has tattooed on his chest.

The gallery’s founder, dealer and curator, Jean-David Malat said: “I am pleased to work with such a talented, young sculptor.

"He works alone and each new piece is a masterpiece, from the plinth to the hyperrealistic eyes.”
