SEAN O’LOUGHLIN is ready to show the man from his past England’s future – but Michael Maguire still has an impact in the present.


The England skipper knows exactly what New Zealand’s new boss can do after he turned Wigan into winners in 2010 and 2011.

His ideas continue through current boss Shaun Wane and O’Loughlin feels they will no matter who takes over at the end of the season.


But even though he feels Maguire, known as Madge, can lift the Kiwis out of the doldrums, he is eager to make him suffer as England look to build on last year’s World Cup near miss.



“He brought a different attitude to training,” recalled loose forward O’Loughlin. “We thought we were working hard, he made us work harder.


“Whatever we did with the ball was underpinned by that work ethic.

“Over his two years, he put the foundations in place and that goes on with Shaun now – some things Madge brought in are still there.


“And it will carry on with whoever comes in. Madge’s philosophies rubbed off on the players, that stays with you.



“There are similarities to when he took over at Wigan. We’d under-performed but he swung things around.


“It was a poor World Cup by New Zealand’s standards and they’ll feel he can do something similar for them.

“He’s got a knack of getting a reaction out of players, he gets the best out of them.”


About 20,000 people are expected at the home of NFL giants Denver Broncos tomorrow – but still the NRL will not have it.


Australia-based players like Sam Burgess and James Graham and boss Wayne Bennett fought the moans.


O’Loughlin, however, was not shocked – but rugby league has been played in America before, in 1989’s American Challenge between Wigan and Warrington.

“I wasn’t surprised,” added the 35-year-old, who misses tonight’s rearranged Super League game at Castleford. “There’s always that thing of club versus international games, especially with the travel involved with this.


“Clubs want their best players but so do international sides, so it didn’t surprise me.


“I’ve seen a video of Wigan v Warrington in Milwaukee and this game has an exciting feel about it. As soon as it was mentioned, we were excited and the mid-season Test had to happen.


“We did a lot at the World Cup but didn’t win it. However, felt it was really important we built on it.”

Export result set on Dbeaver to CSV Normally I use Dbeaver for windows and always export my result set like this: run my query --> select the result --> export the result set --> select export to clipboard --> done This step by step puts my result set in my clipboard and I can paste it wherever I want to work with it.
