ROBERT Elstone has threatened Super League clubs they may be kicked out if they do not have commitment to youth development.
The lack of a reserve grade is a huge point of contention in the 13-a-side code, with some clubs operating second string side voluntarily.

And Salford do not even have an academy side, meaning there is nothing below the first team.
Now the competition’s new chief executive has issued a dire warning if sides do not get their act together.
Elstone will be chairing a Super League board meeting today, where a number of issues will be discussed - not least the future of the Super 8s which he wants rid off.

But he told the Whippets and Flat Caps podcast: “If Super League clubs are not pulling their weight in terms of youth development then I’m not sure they deserve to be at the table.
“I think one of the conditions of membership of Super League needs to be a substantial investment in youth development – a commitment to bringing through the next generation of players.
“Things like partnerships with junior clubs. I see it very much as a collaboration between Super League and the Rugby Football League.”
